* This word can be spelled “demonic” (the popularized form), or “daemonic” (the medieval form often now used by the poets—Yeats, for example), or “daimonic” (the derivitive from the ancient Greek word “diamon”). Since this last is the origin of the concept, and since the term is unambiguous in its including the positive as well as the negative, the divine as well as the diabolical, I use the Greek term.
